Chelsea beat Liverpool at Anfield with a great performance. I have not seen the Blues play that well for a long time. The final score was 3-1 to the Blues, with 2 unexpected goals from Ivanovic. Drogba added the icing to the cake with the third goal. I think Benitez did not expect Hinddick to deploy Ivanovic up front to assist in the set piece. He was not well marked at all. Both his goals were scored in similar fashion.
The 3 away goals mean that Chelsea can even afford to lose 2-0 in the second leg against the Reds at home. However, I believe Hinddick would not allow that to happen. It’ll be great to see the Reds get dumped out of the competition at Stamford Bridge.
