New Home Ground for Singapore Chelsea FC Supporters

Been busy and have not blogged for a while. And since this period coincided with Chelsea's loss of form, I find it hard to write about that anyway. However, I went to Stamford Bridge in December to watch Chelsea play Everton. It was a fantastic experience!

I am aware of SgChelsea – the Singapore Chelsea FC Supporters Club and its activities at Turnstyles but have yet to attend any. I did try to go to Turnstyles last year with my football kakis to watch Chelsea play Man U but was too crowded.

I had a chance meeting with Zahid, Committee Member of SgChelsea at Stamford Bridge Chelsea played Everton on 4th December 2010. It's always great to meet fellow Singaporeans when you are alone in a foreign land. Coincidentally, I bumped into him again at Clarke Quay and he invited me to Turnstyles. However I was not free that night.

We kept in touch and he invited me to the launch of the new home ground for Singapore Chelsea FC Supporters at Link Hotel on 15 January 2011.

The turnout and the cosy and family friendly environment impressed me. It was decorated with Chelsea stuff.

The event was made even better with Chelsea’s 2 - 0 win over Blackburn.

A pity I didn't win the lucky draw despite predicting the correct score (I should have placed a bet with Singapore Pools =P). I'm surprised to meet readers of my blog too.

Congratulations to SgChelsea on the launch of the new hangout!

Thanks for organizing the event and will look forward to more in the future!
