Blues Overcame The Odds!

Champions League Last 16 2nd Leg
Chelsea 4 Napoli 3 (agg score)

It has been a long time since I've seen Chelsea play well. I'm glad I woke up to watch Chelsea vs Napoli this morning. Blues overcame the odds and progressed to the Champions League Quarter finals and became the only Engliah side left in the competition.

I thought Cavani and Lavezzi would cause problems to the shaky Blues defence like they did in the first leg. Fortunately they had a quiet game. All the Napoli players also looked bigger and faster than Chelsea players. Perhaps the home advantage played a factor.

Chelsea old guards Drogba, Terry and Lampard names were on the scoresheet. Ivanovic scored the winner in extra time. Guess Blues were lucky that he was left unmarked and had only the keeper in front of him when he scored that goal. His performance outshine the poor Torres and may have even been mistaken for the striker. Torres broke the infamous record of hitting 24 hours without scoring. He even missed an open goal.

I wonder how Roman Abramovich felt to see Roberto Di Matteo guide Chelsea to the last eight of the UCL instead of AVB, whom he invested so much money on. It's 3 wins out of 3 and if the winning streak continues, RDM will definitely be the darkhorse of the season.
